Here are the next steps, whenever you're ready for them:

1. Keep your pet comfortable where they are. Gently wrap them in a blanket or towel. If it's warm out, moving them to a cool space (like an air-conditioned room) can help, especially if it will be a few hours before pickup.
2. Call us. We'll walk you through everything — pickup from your home or your vet's office, what private cremation involves, and what to expect over the next few days. There's no wrong time to call, and no question too small.
3. Take the time you need. You don't have to decide everything today. Keepsake options, like paw prints or urns, can be chosen later. We'll never rush you into a decision while you're still absorbing the loss.

In private cremation, your pet is the only animal in the chamber from start to finish, so the ashes you receive back are entirely, only, theirs.

In communal cremation, multiple pets are cremated together with no separation, which means families don't receive their own pet's individual ashes back.

We offer private cremation options at Happy Trails with an on-site grieving room where you can say “goodbye” one last time and optionally view the cremation process. 

Happy Trails Pet Crematory offers free veterinary office pickup and home pickup for a nominal fee.

While both offer similar services, we have a licensed funeral director on staff at Happy Trails, who excels at compassionate care, as well as on-site visitation facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.

At Happy Trails Pet Crematory, we offer private cremation with your pets’ ashes returned to you in a wooden Urn. We also offer a wide selection of urns for an additional fee.

We offer a wide selection of memorial keepsakes, urns, and memorial jewelry for pet owners.

Our funeral director, Lindsey, is certified in grief support to help pet parents in their loss. We also provide a memorial wall on our Happy Trails Pet Crematory website where pet parents can post images and stories about their beloved pet. For a nominal fee, we can create a memorial video of your pet.
